Everything you need to plan together

Planny helps groups organize accommodations, shopping lists, and shared expenses — no app install required.

Getting started

  1. 1

    Create a plan

    Enter a name, pick a plan type, and provide your email so you can recover access later. You'll get a unique admin link and an invite link.

    Share the invite link

    Anyone with the link can join by entering a display name and choosing a PIN. No account needed.

    Collaborate in real time

    Vote, claim items, scan receipts — updates are shared live via the board.

Plan types

Travel

Group trips & vacations — vote on where to stay

Step by step

1Admin creates a Travel plan and shares the invite link.
2Participants join with a name and PIN — no account required.
3Anyone can add accommodation options by pasting an Airbnb or Booking.com URL — the scraper auto-fills title, price, images, and details.
4Participants vote on their preferred option. The admin can set a vote limit per round and advance to a new round.
5Admin marks the winning accommodation as "Booked" — the plan is done.

Getaway

Cabins, weekends & short retreats — vote + shared list

Step by step

1Admin creates a Getaway plan and invites everyone.
2Vote on accommodation options (same as Travel).
3After deciding on the place, switch to the Checklist tab — add items to buy, bring, or tasks to do.
4Participants claim items they'll take care of. Mark items as done when purchased or brought.
5Scan receipts to track shared expenses and see who owes who.

Party

Events & celebrations — coordinate who brings what

Step by step

1Admin creates a Party plan and shares the invite link with guests.
2Guests join with a name and PIN. Everyone sees the shared checklist.
3Add items to the checklist — food, drinks, decorations, tasks. Assign a quantity and estimated price to each.
4Each guest claims what they'll bring or do. Items move to "claimed" and show who's responsible.
5After the party, scan receipts to split shared costs fairly.

Shopping List

Shared list with receipt scanning & expense tracking

Step by step

1Create a Shopping List plan and share the invite link.
2Add items with type BUY, BRING, or TODO. Include quantities, units, and estimated prices.
3Participants claim items they'll handle. Everyone knows who's doing what.
4Upload a receipt photo — AI extracts all items and matches them to your list automatically. Extra items (not on the list) appear for admin review.
5Admin confirms the receipt → expense is created. Everyone claims what they consumed and the app calculates who owes who.

Gift List

Wishlist & secret claiming — no spoilers

Step by step

1The gift recipient (or admin) creates a Gift plan and shares the invite with the gift-givers.
2Add wishlist items manually, or paste an Amazon/online store URL — AI auto-fills title, price, and image.
3Gift-givers secretly claim what they'll buy. Claims are hidden from other participants (no spoilers).
4Once purchased, mark the item as done. The item shows as "claimed" without revealing who.

Split Bill

Scan receipts, claim what you ate, settle up

Step by step

1Create a Split Bill plan — you get an admin link and an invite link.
2Share the invite link with everyone — they join with a name and PIN, no account needed.
3Anyone scans a receipt — AI reads every item, quantity, and price automatically.
4Admin confirms the receipt and selects who paid. An expense is created with all line items.
5Each person claims what they consumed — with exact quantities if needed (e.g. "½ pizza").
6The app calculates the minimal transfers to settle all debts: "Alice owes Bob 45 RON".

Receipts & expenses

Scan a receipt

Upload a photo of a receipt. AI (Gemini Vision) extracts all items and prices. For Shopping List plans it also matches items to your checklist automatically.

  • [Planned]item was on your list and found on the receipt. Automatically marked as done.
  • [Extra]item bought but not on the list. Admin can approve (adds to list) or dismiss.

Confirming a receipt

Admin reviews the extracted items, selects who paid, and clicks "Confirm". This creates an expense with all line items. A receipt can only be confirmed once.

Claiming items & splitting

Each participant claims the items they consumed (with quantity if needed). Planny calculates balances and shows the minimal transfers to settle all debts.

Access & security

PIN

Each participant sets a PIN when joining. If you lose your session, you can re-enter using your display name + PIN. Keep your PIN safe.

Admin link

The admin gets a private link sent to their email. This link gives full admin access — keep it secret. You can recover it any time from the home page using your email.

Ghost mode

Ghost participants can browse without a name — useful for the admin to monitor without interfering. Ghosts can't vote or claim items.
